Shyam Special School for mentally challenged children was founded by Engineer Mr. Ulaganathan and Mrs. Jeganmatha Ulaganathan, having a son with autism, who is now 23 years. Regarding the birth of Shyam Special School, in the words of the founders: “The challenges and hardships we have been facing in bringing up Shyam who has special needs, prompted us to think of other children who have similar conditions and the plight of their parents. It made us reach out to them with love to care and to encourage them out of our own experience.” It is incorporated by the Future Trust, Registration No. 54 of Block IV - 2016 Rajapalayam.
Shyam Special School has received a Certificate of Registration and Recognition-291/2019 dated 09/02/2019 from the Commissionerate for Welfare of the Differently-abled by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Special Education
Children with disabilities receive specially designed instruction using specialized materials and teaching techniques to meet their special educational needs.
Physiotherapy
Our school has a well-equipped physiotherapy room for children who have difficulties with functional movement, balance, or navigating their environment.
Speech Therapy
Students with speech, language and communication difficulties receive speech therapy. Additionally, it increases the confidence of children in verbal communication.
Occupational Therapy
Children who have difficulties with practical and social skills required in everyday life receive occupational therapy. The service provides support when the system fails.
Yoga
Yoga for Autistic Children – At the Institute, we teach Yogendra Pranayamas that are easy to follow. We practice abdominal IV pranayama and other relaxation methods like Shavasana, Nisphanda Bhava.
Cookery Class
Cooking classes are great for disabled people. It can be an excellent respite from the stresses of everyday life by providing fun and friendship.
